When Research Gets Musical: The MICCAI 2025 Song

At tomorrow's Opening Ceremony, we're excited to unveil a new MICCAI 2025-themed song: "South Korea, let me go!

While preparing her submission for MICCAI 2025, PhD student Lisa Guzzi noticed that her teammates were feeling the pressure of completing their papers. So, she turned to her songwriting skills to lift their spirits and bring some much-needed fun to the process.

"I usually play the role of the positive figure in the team, so I wanted to do something that could relieve the pressure and motivate everyone,” said Lisa. "When I shared it with the group, it really seemed to lighten the mood. During stressful moments, we would sing to each other ‘South Korea, let me go!!'”

It may have even contributed to their success. Lisa's papers were accepted to two workshops - AMAI and MLMI, both taking place today - while her teammate, Daniele Falcetta, will present two papers at the main conference, including a Spotlight Oral scheduled for tomorrow (Sept 24).

We hope you'll enjoy "South Korea, let me go!” as much as we do, and we invite you to sing along at the Opening Ceremony. South Korea, here we are!
