Attention! Authors intending to submit a workshop or challenge paper should apply early. The travel grant application deadline is earlier than some paper submission deadlines. Applicants do not need to wait for paper acceptance notifications to apply.

The MICCAI Society is pleased to provide financial support to members of the MICCAI Community who are from diverse and underserved backgrounds and want to attend the annual MICCAI conference. Diversity, in this case, encompasses a wide range of characteristics in the scientific community including, but not limited to, underrepresented gender and racial/ethnic groups, lower-income countries and countries underrepresented in MICCAI.
Recipients of the MICCAI Society Registration Grants will receive waiver codes to cover main conference and satellite event registrations, plus a one-year MICCAI Society membership fee. The MICCAI Society will support 25 Registration Grants (approximately 20 young scientists and 5 non-young scientists) annually.
Recipients of the MICCAI Society Travel Grants will receive financial support of up to $2,500 per grant to use towards conference registration, MICCAI membership, lodging, and travel costs. The MICCAI Society will support 15 Travel Grants annually.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Registration Grants provide funding to USA-based students and early-career scientists to attend the MICCAI 2026 conference. The grants aim to support young investigators based in the USA by providing them with an opportunity to reach an international community for career development and scientific collaboration.
The grants cover in-person MICCAI 2026 conference registration, which includes the main conference and both days of the satellite event, and one year of complimentary MICCAI Society membership. Grants will be awarded in the form of registration waiver codes.
All USA-based students and early career scientists (within four years of their terminal degree) with an accepted MICCAI 2026 paper are eligible.
Support for US-based students and early career investigators was also provided in part by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) through conference grant R13EB035922 from the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering. RISE-MICCAI will provide a total of 5 to 10 grants for up to $2,500/award will be awarded to pay for conference registration fees, accommodations and travel costs, as well as a one-year MICCAI Society membership.
To be eligible, applicants must be presenting a paper at MICCAI 2026 and from a low- to middle-income country (LMIC) or from an underrepresented country.
The organizers of the MIRASOL Workshop are collaborating with the MICCAI Society to supplement conference registration costs, provide travel stipends and offer best paper awards. The MIRASOL Travel Grants are intended for exceptional LMIC researchers from under-represented regions who may need support to participate in the MIRASOL Workshop at MICCAI 2026 and contribute their research.
To be eligible, applicants must submit a paper to the MIRASOL workshop by the workshop deadline and be either a current student, postdoctoral trainee, resident/fellow, or an early-career scientist.
The organizers of the AFRICAI workshop in collaboration with the MICCAI Society, have secured dedicated funding to support participation by researchers from Africa. AFRICAI Travel Grants are intended for exceptional researchers who may require financial assistance to attend the AFRICAI Workshop at MICCAI 2026, present their work, and engage with the international medical AI community.
To be eligible, applicants must submit a paper to the AFRICAI Workshop by the 1 July deadline and be either a current student, postdoctoral researcher, resident/fellow, early-career scientist, or junior faculty member. Preference will be given to applicants based at institutions in Africa or conducting research that addresses healthcare challenges relevant to African populations.
These grants aim to reduce barriers to participation, foster new collaborations, and support the growth of a diverse and inclusive community advancing artificial intelligence for healthcare across Africa and beyond.
