Grants and Awards Application Form

The following awards and grants are available to assist the MICCAI community to attend MICCAI 2024. Eligible applicants must apply as early as possible. The adjudication and notification process will be carried out on a rolling basis, to allow time for the grantees to make travel arrangements and obtain visas to the host country if needed. Applicants can apply for multiple grants or awards in the same application form but will not be allocated more than one. The grants/awards are intended to support in-person participation in the MICCAI conference. If a selected grantee or awardee is not able to attend the conference in person, the grant will go to the next candidate on the ranked list.

I. MICCAI Society Registration and Travel Grants

For more details, please refer to the MICCAI Society Registration and Travel Grants Guidelines.

Recipients of the MICCAI Society Registration Grants will receive waiver codes to cover main conference and satellite event registrations and one-year society membership fee.

Recipients of the MICCAI Society Travel Grants will receive financial support of up to $2,500 per grant to contribute towards conference registration, MICCAI membership, lodging, and travel costs.

All members of the MICCAI community are eligible to apply for the MICCAI Registration and Travel Grants.

The selection of the grantees will prioritize the following criteria:

  • Authors of a paper accepted in the MICCAI conference of that year.
  • Candidates who are a current student or within two years of their terminal degree (i.e., MICCAI Young Scientists), or those within four years of their terminal degree (i.e., Early-Career Scientists).
  • Candidates from underserved gender and racial/ethnicity groups, differing abilities, low-income and lower-middle-income countries, or countries that are underrepresented in MICCAI conferences.
II. NIH Participation Awards

For more details, please refer to the NIH Participation Awards Guidelines.

The NIH Participation Awards provide funding to USA-based students and early career scientists to attend the MICCAI 2024 conference. The awards aim to enhance diversity in conference attendance and provide underrepresented groups with an opportunity to reach an international community for career development and scientific collaborations.

The awards cover in-person MICCAI 2024 conference registration, which includes the main conference and both days of satellite event, and one year of complimentary MICCAI Society membership. Awards will be given in the form of registration waiver codes.

All USA-based students and early career scientists (within four years of their terminal degree) are eligible.
Priority will be given to authors from underrepresented populations per NIH definition in the Biomedical, Clinical, Behavioral and Social Sciences in Research.

III. Travel Grants for African Participants

The African Grant supports African students and early-career researchers who aspire to pursue careers in medical imaging and healthcare by providing them with the opportunity to attend MICCAI 2024. MICCAI 2024 will be held in Africa for the first time and the awards aim to contribute towards an unprecedented participation of African researchers and students.”

Selection Criteria:
